The infrastructure upgrade includes construction of a 1.6-kilometer single-lane free-flow link road connecting A11 northbound to A47 eastbound, featuring two new underpasses. Additional components include a 1-kilometer local link road, a new road bridge, two junctions, widening of an existing link road, and a new footbridge.
The project aims to reduce congestion and increase capacity near Norwich, supporting local development and improving access to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Construction has begun with completion expected in 2028/29.
